Thank you for visiting our new website.  We have just recently launched our new website and hope that you find it more informative and accessible than the former site.  The goal of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office is to keep the residents of Polk County more informed of the duties performed by our office.

You will notice as you go to the various areas or departments you will see the names and photos of all our employees and their duties.  You also have the opportunity to respond to us through the website and we encourage you to do so. This is a new venture for us so I am sure there will be mistakes made, even though we will be trying very hard to prevent this.  If for any reason you feel we have posted the wrong info do not hesitate to contact us.

Things going on currently in the county are heavy thefts of copper wiring.  If you see an unfamiliar vehicle in your area or slow driving by abandoned houses or barns to not hesitate to call and report it.  If possible give as a description of the vehicle and the persons involved.  It is very important to get a number from the vehicle license if possible.  Do not approach the suspects yourself get us the info and we will work from there.

The last thing I would request you do right now is to consider the 3/8 cent sales tax that will appear on the April ballot.  If you need more knowledge of why it is needed please ask someone that works closely with the 9-1-1 center then make your decision.  Pro or Con everyone should exercise their RIGHT TO VOTE!
